- Some thoughts on choosing a hosting provider.
When I first started looking for a hosting provider, I had no idea where to begin. There were so many options, and every provider seemed to promise the world. Over time, I realized that choosing a hosting provider boils down to a few key considerations, and I’d like to share what I learned using 3v-Hosting as an example.
First, reliability is a must. If your website is constantly down, it doesn’t matter how great it looks or how much effort you’ve put into it. I checked 3v-Hosting’s uptime guarantee, and they offer 99.9% uptime, which gave me confidence. So far, they’ve lived up to it—I can’t remember any unexpected downtime.
Next is speed. No one likes a slow website, and I knew my visitors wouldn’t stick around if pages took forever to load. 3v-Hosting uses SSD storage and modern server technology, which makes a noticeable difference. My website loads quickly, and it’s reassuring to know I don’t have to worry about performance issues.
Support was another big factor for me. I’m not a tech wizard, so I wanted to know help was available if I ran into problems. 3v-Hosting’s support team has been fantastic—friendly, quick to respond, and actually helpful. I’ve had a couple of minor hiccups, and they’ve always resolved them in no time.
Lastly, cost mattered. I didn’t want to overspend, but I also knew that cheap hosting often comes with compromises. 3v-Hosting struck the perfect balance. Their plans are affordable without cutting corners on quality, which made them a clear winner for me.
When choosing a hosting provider, it’s about finding someone who delivers on the essentials: reliability, speed, support, and value. For me, 3v-Hosting checked all those boxes, and I haven’t regretted my decision.
- Some thoughts re the Nothing vid of @juxtopposed
Wanna share some of my thoughts re this. I don't wanna write a very long essay, so here are just 5 items –
-
I agree that 1 swipe down should let us alter the brightness.
-
I'm OK with no sun icon in the brightness slider. I'll know that it's brightness even without any icon. But some may have a hard time, so adding an icon will be more user-friendly for them.
-
Obviously Nothing didn't wanna overuse their dot matrix design. I side with Nothing on this 1. Putting it all over the os will be 👎 for me. But beauty is subjective. Some may want the dot matrix design all over the os.
Carl Pei probably thought re the folks switching from a different Android phone or an iPhone to a Nothing phone. He probably wants the process to be as smooth as possible so the user will be satisfied. So he didn't use the dot matrix design on the icons. He said something related to this. Changing many things fast versus changing some things gradually. He said Nothing couldn't be overeager to alter stuff.
-
Re the phone and messages apps, I wonder whether Nothing wanted the users to use the Google apps for these or Nothing is making their own now and will release those in the future.
-
I agree that Google photos is not for everyone.
Some don't wanna have a Google account.
Google photos is cloud-storage-focused, not local-storage-focused. Some want a local-storage-focused gallery app.
Its search doesn't work offline. Some need a gallery app that works offline.

- Help me find info about a specific CMF watch issue
So I distinctly recall reading a reddit thread where someone woke up with someone else's photo on their cmf watch's custom watch face. I remember a few other people saying they had the same issue, and that's about it. I have tried pretty exhaustively to find that thread, or even any information about the issue, but I just can't seem to find anything. Does anybody remember this, or have any more info? Thanks a lot!
- Migrate from Apple?
Good morning! I hope this community is not dead 😵
I was objectively wondering if it was advantageous to switch from a Nothing Phone 2 or 2a (which one is already the best?) Since an iPhone 13.
That’s it. Otherwise, do you prefer Nothing or Apple?

Hey y'all - found this great work by SebiAi and haven't seen it posted yet. There are some interesting ringtones and notifications out there plus you have unlimited options to create your own one utilizing all Glyph LEDs on both 1 and 2.
- Easter eggs for ear (2) on Nothing X?
I bought the ear (2) and received them today using the ear (1) customer discount. I was wondering if there were any easter eggs in the app like the previous version.
On ear (1) there was a combination of taps that would allow customizing the LED and changing the in-app appearance. Anything similar this time around?
