I still believe foldable screens is a solution searching for a problem. I think nobody wants them.
They actually are really nice, but they still need some time in terms of reliability. They are awesome for reading books or the news on the go, though. Or if you need a maps application open while biking. I miss mine, but Samsung still has dogshit repairability, so when a 10¢ ribbon cable broke (understandable), their solution was to replace all three screens, or pull a repair shop's license. A $600 replacement.
Lol I very much want them, my foldy phone solves every problem that a tablet solves, if I had had a tablet near me when I needed it that is. Which, since it's a secondary device needing to be carried in addition, I never did. Ever.
Now whenever something happens and I get stuck somewhere longer or just waiting at an airport or just waiting for something in general a common thought of the past would be "damn I wish I had a bigger screen/brought tablet with me". I haven't thought that thought in over 2 years since I made the switch.

Same. It's nearly as good as having a full laptop in my pocket wherever I go, given the Fold series' top-end specs and the nice big screen.
I just wish there was a remote desktop app that took advantage of the Android Fold API so that it splits the desktop into the first half of the screen and uses the other for an on-screen trackpad/keyboard.
It would be perfect, but alas I haven't found one yet :(
There is a new desktop mode coming to Pixel devices soon.
If it means I could get a small phone back again, I'd be all over it when the prices start to get down to sane levels.
This. An easy one-handed phone that I can flip or unfold into a larger screen for media/games/extra-curricular. Can't wait for this inevitable future.

I sort of agree in terms of the type that unfolds into a larger display, although price is definitely a big factor with those. I feel like durability is becoming less of a concern as more people are exposed to them in the real world. However, I disagree if you're referring to the type that folds down into a smaller form factor. They have been selling quite well as I understand, and are a clear solution to one of the problems with phones being so large now (that they are no longer pocketable in many cases). I would have a hard time going back to a regular phone after using one of these for over a year now.
