Are there any good Android browsers that offer AI summarization of articles and a good reader mode?
If not any good tools out there to seamlessly AI summarize articles? I'm imagining an app you can just share a URL to that would instantly render a summary for you.
There are not many browsers that natively provide AI summarization of articles. However, there are some dedicated apps and extensions that can summarize articles for you.
One such tool is SMMRY. It's a website where you can paste the text of an article, and it will provide a summary. While it doesn't have a dedicated Android app, you can use it in any browser on your phone.
TLDR This is a similar tool that offers a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox. It provides AI-generated summaries of articles, papers, and documents. While it doesn't have a native Android app, you can use it on a desktop browser, and there's a web version available that you can use on your phone.
On the other hand, many browsers, including Firefox and Microsoft Edge, offer a "Reader Mode" that simplifies webpage layouts for easier reading. This feature removes most ads and other distractions from a page, leaving just the text and essential images. It doesn't provide a summary, but it can make a long article easier to navigate.
For an integrated experience, you might have to use a combination of tools - a browser with a good reader mode to clean up the webpage, and then a separate tool like SMMRY or TLDR This to generate a summary.
Remember that AI summarization tools are not perfect and the quality of the summary can vary depending on the complexity of the article. They are best used to get a quick overview of a piece, but if you need a full understanding of the topic, it's best to read the complete article.
