New Whoniverse Spin-Off 'The War Between The Land And The Sea' announced at San Diego Comic-Con

Filming begins next month and will be directed by Dylan Holmes-Williams, director of two Season 1 episodes – 73 YARDS and DOT AND BUBBLE.
The announcement that this is going to feature Kate Lethbridge-Stewart has me interested in the idea for the first time.

I have mixed feelings about the Sea Devils, but I’m happy to see Russell Tovey back in the Whoniverse! I guess he won’t be playing Alonso again… right? Right?
If rumours are true that Freema Agyeman is returning as Martha though, Mbatha-Raw could well be back as her sister Tish.
I’m cautiously optimistic for now!

Interestingly, both Tovey and Mbatha-Raw have appeared in Doctor Who before – the former played Midshipman Alonso Frame in two episodes in 2007 and 2010, while the latter portrayed Tish Jones, sister of companion Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman), in several episodes aired in 2007.
However, both are understood to be playing new characters in The War Between The Land And The Sea.

Hmm, I hadn't heard that...
I think it's a "leak" that I saw on Reddit or somewhere like that. Couldn't corroborate it if I wanted to, I just want to see Martha again 🙂
