Plenty of normal people care about this, but they're authoritarians if they actually support this policy.

So since my uncle who is a vet and because he cares about the flag he is a weirdo?
If he cares about it enough to want a law preventing people from burning it? Yes.
Completely anecdotal, to be fair. I've seen some videos of veterans as well as first generation immigrants complaining about the desecration of the flag.
Then I stand by my position that the people who give a shit about this are weirdos. Because, believe it or not, being a veteran or an immigrant doesn't shield you from being a weirdo.
