Why do I find older Star Trek so cozy? Is it just nostalgia? The relatively utopian view of the future? The competence of the characters? The fact that each episode has a tidy ending instead of a cliffhanger?

Unless it's a 2 parter. Of course, you wouldn't rob yourself the satisfaction of simply watching both episodes back to back.

This definitely is why I seem to like TNG and VOY over DS9, although I know I'm only one of like 5 people that don't like DS9 as much.
