I think this guy is more akin to the ancestor:
He's definitely the sort that would attack the family on the other side of the hill with a big rock because they weren't from his side of the hill. So in that sense, yes.
If I get the context right then he's a traitor, but I cannot deny that the outfit is pretty cool
