"I do apologize for any strife or trauma, but it had to be done," the Ivy League graduate reportedly wrote in a manifesto admitting to killing UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson. "These parasites had it coming."
This guy doesn't need the best lawyers, this guy seriously needs to just speak with candor like we all currently are. Time for inflection when legitimate psychopaths are buying yachts off the sweat of the brows of people sleeping in cars despite having full time jobs. If you put a dog in a kennel and beat and starve it you deserve to be bit.
The world is shit, we live in fear of missing 4 paychecks, while people like Brian Thompson pull the rug from us. He'll be fine
Edit: only difference between this and a riot is some numbers. Not guilty in my book
The news got 100k laugh reacts before they disable visible totals. Even on Fox News' Facebook people were like 'I would care but it doesn't meet the deductible'. That is the jury of his peers
GFM will disable the fundraiser; one of their restrictions is that the fundraiser can't be used for "the legal defense of financial and violent crimes". Wait until things are farther along. There may be some kind of defense fund announced. If there isn't, then my personal suggestion would be to mail anonymous cash to his lawyers (once they're announced), saying it's to be used for his defense.
What about out right innocent decision? Ya Jury nullification if a boot licker gets on the Jury. But I know I'd be advocating for an innocent verdict if I was on the jury. Hell NYC just let a man who strangled a mentally ill person to death on camera walk because self defense. Luigi killing the CEO is a form of self-defense in my opinion.
Jury nullification isn't some secret third option. The jurors individually can only choose guilty or not guilty. If they are unanimous, that is the decision. If they are not unanimous, it's a hung jury effectively voiding the entire court process up to that point. The government then needs to decide if they want to re-file and try again.
Jury nullification is when evidence is presented establishing clear guilt and the jury still renders a not guilty verdict. 5th amendment prohibits double jeopardy so they cannot be retried.
Is he repped yet? If not and anyone knows how to get in touch with his people please contact me. I have a line on a few free attorneys that take cases of this magnitude.
I don't get this whole hype. Do we need words to explain to people they can do this? I didn't know there was a term for it, but the concept that someone can vote not guilty for contextual reasons is a thought I've had over my lifetime. Not common?
