Sure, it won't inhibit their actions at all, but it greatly reduces the negativity I experience here and stops me from interacting with it

I have a lot of blocked communities, but only 5 blocked individuals.
Edit: Trump and Elon are filtered as well, as are two instances due to too many trolls and one because I don’t speak their language and they show up too often on /all.
I have zero blocked anything. Even if people are trolls, it's fun to see what everyone is saying.
I've even had constructive conversation on Hexbear before, I enjoy engaging with people with different opinions to me.
I blocked a LOT of furry porn but no people
I blocked a singular bot, lemmy.ml, trump/elon, furry subs (not for me, no hate), and anime subs because they're boring.
I blocked the worst shit stirrers (just the ones calling for defederation with whomever seemingly every week) and my internet drama has gone down significantly. If I want a real chill time, I temporarily block .world. Less content but it gets rid of pretty much all the BS.
