Unmoderated Communities

If a moderator is not active or banned, you can request to be a mod for that community. Just check community rules before posting.

I decided not to remove the old mod. What do you think about it? I believe I shouldn't do this, but I would still like to hear your opinion. Is it unfair to remove that mod if inactive for a week?

Also; @Solaire@lemmynsfw.com is banned and s/he has so many communities. I can appoint if there are some volunteers.

note: bottomless and lesbians communities are reserved for now.

  • One of the biggest issues that happened on Reddit was various folks trying to build fiefdoms and squatting on community/subreddit names without any real interest(s) in building up and nurturing the comms.
Glad you/admins here seem to be aware of this potential issue and are taking active action.

    • I’m trying to escape from responsibility as much as I can lol :) But that’s good point too.

We are currently on a whole new platform and people want to contribute to it. I don't want to discourage anyone as much as possible.

      • Totally understand the need for flexibilty while building this platform up. It took a group of us mods on Reddit over 2+ years to finally get admins to pay some attention to these squatters (one guy had over 1000+ subreddits at one point, and was using an automated script to create subs every 5 minutes... as well as alt accounts that do the same...

        • I’m afraid of that too. But we are not on Reddit scale and only NSFW oriented. So I think we can handle these kind of spams hopefully.
