Okay, maybe you're kind of deliberately understating that a little?
Don't get me wrong, they seem to be arguing relatively respectfully so I don't think they deserve the downvotes, but claiming the downvotes are for individuality is a stretch lol

It seems to amount to that. It's not one of those differences where anything hypothetically would be at stake aside from being one with the crowd. It even reminds me of that Emo Phillips joke about the two people on a bridge.

And a temporary ban. With permabans later for what many might argue were even dumber reasons (some of which are lied about in whatever logs show up). So emphasis on individuality.

I guess I get that a lot. It never helps, to my confusion, that I'm never out there with the same approach, never calling it odd/suspicious/shameful when they have their approach to different things. With their approach, one might say it's inevitable they're going to think that about someone somewhere.
