What are examples of bad director duos?
Farelly brothers, Coens, Russos, Wachowskis, Lord and Miller etc.
Pretty good track records for these teams, but are there counter examples or should mid directors just find a partner?

I agree that the movies they did earlier in their careers were more enjoyable to me, but I also am confused

Had to look it up. But they wrote and produced the movie V for Vendetta.
Cloud Atlas was pretty good too; I also liked Sense8 on Netflix
Cloud Atlas is so much fun!
Speed Racer is a wonderful film fully embracing the formalism side of film making. My favorite film by them.
