Isn't Google Chat a feature of Google Messages? It's what they call RCS for some reason.

17 0 ReplyHere's a bonus for more confusion: in Google Messages if your carrier doesn't self host RCS, that "Chat" toggle changes to a ”Google Jibe" one 🤦♂️

Messages is sms, MMS, RCS. I'm not sure what chat uses, but it's a data protocol not tied to the cell network

1 0 ReplyI know it's still dumb, but in that screenshot they are not using Chat anywhere as a proper noun. The option to get to this screen is no longer Chat settings it's RCA settings. Conversations it says RCS message instead of Chat.
