Nothings wrong with them, they just occupy a similar place in my mind as a tablet: Once popular for casual use but ended up as an awkward middle grounds between mobile phones and desktops that are now only used for business or school work.

Okay, but that's a giant market. There were 75.2 million students enrolled in the U.S. in 2022. That's 75.2 million potential notebook users even if their school systems don't offer that. So I think there's a justifiable market.
Dude what. Tablets are pure garbage. Tablets are the awkward middle ground. Tablets are laptops missing a fucking keyboard. How annoying is that?
People who need a portable computer. Tablets haven't quite advanced far enough to replace them entirely.
