Does rooting no longer require specialized hardware?
You mean the breakout board? You can root with a breadboard but the breakout board is strongly recommended and there are lots of people ready to send you a kit or lend you their board.

lotsany in the US willing to send when I tried a few months ago and picked up a dreameDennis Giese (one of the two people working on Valetudo) is sending PCBs in the US. Well shit. Now that I know about this, I find out my model is permanently unsupported. Thanks for the info.
