Oh, well my device was made in 2019 and runs Lineage 21. Apparently that's not entirely the norm
What kernel are you on? If its a new enough kernel and the device has enough ram you should be able to upgrade or port an upgrade

Have you checked XDA for an unofficial newer LineageOS ROM or a totally different ROM?
