I know we don't have a good track record against Bayern, but I feel like the media is exaggerating the drama and severity behind this draw. Munich is a very good team, even if they are in a nominal funk right now. But all this stuff about how we got the toughest matchup possible... I don't buy it.
Everyone in the QFs is going to be very tough. At least Bayern probably won't play the kind of defensive anti-football that we saw from Porto. So hopefully we'll at least be able to play to our strengths a bit more. And if we're going to proceed further into the tournament then we'll have to take on whoever we are presented.
If we make it past Bayern then that would be awesome. If we don't then at least we've made a really good shake of it in the CL this season.
Honestly think it's about the best draw that isn't Dortmund. I wanted to avoid Atletico and City, and we've done that for this stage. We are capable of beating Bayern.
Also it reminds me of a principle for FM that one of the YouTubers I watch has, which is that if you can reach the QF, then you can win the CL, cuz then it's just up to luck of 5 games and the draw; we can do that.
Very much agreed - I'm not surprised that the media is exaggerating how difficult the draw is going to be. I think that it's going to be a slugfest with Bayern - back and forth and high scoring. But I certainly don't think we're the underdogs in this scenario. Plus, we have the Harry Kane jinx on our side.
