I thought the state broadcaster was a person. It is a building.
That's an interesting mix up but I could totally understand it.
Is there no state run TV / radio where you live?
We call them public broadcast stations here in the US. The host is usually called a broadcaster or anchor.
If that person is in the US, no, there is not.
PBS/NPR?
I guess that's true, but they're not directly state-run. Public, yes.
To be fair, I think in the US, even if we did have a state broadcaster, we would refer to this as setting the state broadcaster building on fire. Because state broadcaster sounds like a person and not a building or institution. But it might just sound that way to us because we don't have a state broadcaster.
