The clip is from the 1985 comedy, "Volunteers." It's silly and farcical in tone, not a great movie but covers unusual, somewhat interesting subject matter and has some funny bits -- while unfortunately also dealing quite casually in misogyny and racially insensitive Asian stereotypes. Here, Candy plays Tom Tuttle from Tacoma, a Peace Corps volunteer tasked with building a bridge in a Thai village. Tuttle and his fellow volunteers, played by Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, eventually learn that their Peace Corps liaison, played by Tim Thomerson, is also working for the CIA and is in cahoots with a local black marketeer. While the communist guerillas are nominally presented as minor villains, all they actually want to do is use the bridge to expand their outreach efforts, while the CIA/drug dealer side want to raze the village once the bridge is up and build an airfield where it stood in order to aid US military operations and expand the black marketeer's opium trade internationally.
