Student protesters at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State stayed in line with regulations being enforced at California's public universities this school year, but made it clear they intend to keep their concerns about the war in Gaza front and center.
“We are a free speech university. But to intentionally break the rules ... now you’re in the world of civil disobedience and we’re going to think about consequences.”
"Decorum is more important than the human lives you're protesting on behalf of."
What a bunch of clowns openly railing against civil disobedience.
Civil disobedience is a good thing and it should have no "consequences" to think about. At least in a democratic society, which Academia isn't on multiple levels.
Additionally, a well-meaning and functioning state would make those making these threats think about consequences of punishing free speech exercised in a civil manner.
