This is not a smart choice, they do know that the alternative to peaceful protests like this is violent protest right? They want to challenge that or do they think it won't be done because it's "illegal", that didn't stop these guys now did it?

Lemmy doesn’t even have an automod last I knew. And if there is now, and it’s anything like the Reddit one, it’s just regex. You can’t really do much more than pattern matching with regex.
People can set up and host their own bots to react to keywords and such.
