She didn't just hire a woman, she hired a black woman. They don't take kindly to that sort of thing in Texas.
She currently works at University of Texas in Austin. So maybe just not College Station.
Not even that, just with influential old rich shits like the Rudder Association and Abbot's picked men Board of Regents. Disastrous meetings with students and faculty are big parts of why she is leaving.
