I can’t take the article seriously when I read the sentence suggesting there are rural areas in Singapore. This is a highly developed highly urbanised island, and even its green spaces are highly manufactured and planned and require a lot of resources to create and maintain (ie fresh water, soil, fertiliser, plastic etc) vs just leaving and preserving whatever little nature we have left alone.
