Goodbye DeX, Samsung reveals the fate of the Windows app

Samsung quietly announced on its UK website that the DeX Windows app will be discontinued once One UI 7 rolls out.

But I thought DeX was the "use your phone like a PC" external peripheral support, which is staying, and link to Windows was always just another thing? Are they just removing duplicated functionality?
- Link to Windows is pretty terrible except for basic SMS. Really wish Microsoft would stop trying to make it the iTunes of Android.
