Am I the only one here who doesn't see the big deal? Op probably had to glance at their phone for like 2 seconds. If you're going straight with no traffic I think that's an extremely common thing to do once and a while, even to just switch music or whatever.
Nah, there's several comments saying the same thing. Texting and driving is dangerous, yes. Taking a pic that takes literally no concentration for a few seconds on a long stretch of interstate at night, not very risky. I can almost guarantee the same people whining have fiddled with their phones to change songs/podcasts/audiobooks/GPS for a few seconds at some point in city traffic.
