More or less that much like most of the rest of the world they copied car centric American cities and changing that would cost huge amounts of money compared to making buses and trams. And they do have trains also.

God forbid something rolls out in another country because of some deal, surely Chinese ev bus manufacturer will never make a bus for China, and the same car centric cities applies to most big cities in general in response to " what's wrong with trains". And obviously something that rolls out in one place was only designed for that place, obviously. I even said "much like most of the rest of the world" one can never really take the redditor out of a redditor.
