Hopefully China sets Vietnam back on the right path, Vietnam’s decision to help Israel is sickening.
Unfortunately, China does a fair amount of trading with Isn'treal as well. It's one of my few major complaints towards them that I have. They are doing so much good for the world. They even speak out against what's happening, yet continue to trade with them.
Stopping trade with the colonial entity is not easy. It requires decoupling from the USA and their European lapdogs(same lapdogs that are openly receiving Netanyahu all around Europe) and building solid alternatives that will not jeopardize development.
One way to understand this clearer is to investigate USA's Anti-BDS laws and how it affects Global South countries seeking to reduce trade with Israel.
The U.S. Anti-BDS framework creates a structural imbalance, where Global South countries must weigh domestic or moral priorities against the risk of U.S. retaliation. While these laws do not outright ban trade reductions with Israel, they weaponize economic interdependence to suppress dissent, reinforcing Israel’s geopolitical insulation. This dynamic underscores the broader tension between U.S. hegemony and Global South efforts to pursue independent, ethics-driven foreign policies.
Simple example of this dynamic:
Everything you post sounds dead ass like some chat ai you prompted to write an essay as to why trading with genociders is actually ok. Lol
On the contrary, I am actually appealing to all of you to not be idealist and trying to be as clear as possible. To practice our ideals, we need to build the base first.
Blaming countries from the global south and conflating trading with "aiding" the genociders is wrong and manipulative from you.
Nobody is going to "set" anybody in the right path. China and Vietnam meet to discuss economic cooperation. We are not interested in interfering in each other's foreign policies.
I don’t care, still absolutely disgusting that Vietnam is aiding in genocide.
For me, aiding is what the gringos are currently doing which is deliverying all of the weaponry, ammunitions, intelligence, and media backing.
I wouldn't call Vietnam trading with the colonial entity as "aiding". Yes, the ideal is to shut every connection with the entity. However, aiding sounds as if Vietnam is doing equal damage as the Americans. It is false and kind of malicious to conclude that Vietnam is impacting negatively as the USA on Palestine.
Serious accusation. You'll need some convincing evidence to support your claim.

Its a pretty well known fact Vietnam trades quite a lot with Isn'treal. This is not a hard thing to look up and has been discussed in several instances on this site. This is only one such example.
Israel has many trading partners. China is the 2nd largest only after the US, whilst Vietnam is nowhere to be found in the top 5. The other guy suggested that Israel's 2nd largest trading should set Israel's Nth largest trading partner on the right path, if China really does it, they would be hypocritical. Thankfully, China is not stupid.
You said "it's a well known fact", but you didn't know that there are many more countries who trade with Israel? Or did you know but decided to single Vietnam out for some reason?
I also don't appreciate people conflating trading with "aiding in genocide", as if we literally send fighter jets to kill children.
If you trade with people doing genocide you are complicit with genocide. China doing it doesn't make it ok either. It's disgusting to see them and any other country do it. Not sorry.
Also, I wasn't talking about other countries. I was talking specifically about Vietnam because that's what the topic was. Don't try to do a misdirection. The topic was Vietnam. You asked for sources. I gave sources for the other commenter. It's not my fault you took offense to them. Maybe stop trying to defend a legitimately bad thing. Trading with fascists that are raping, murdering, and committing genocide, who are not only open about it but proud of their inhumanity, is supporting said fascists. Which most would consider a bad thing.
Then China and Vietnam should stop trading with the US, right?
EDIT: To the downvoters: this is a legitimate question. I would love for such trade to stop, I hear it would only cost China $500 billion. But I'm worried that them doing that would cause the US to be more forceful in trying to get their resources and I think AES states are trying to avoid that. Even if China could militarily hand the US its ass, the damage is still a concern.
Unironically, yes. lol
I was about to write this too lol! 😅
Also, the whole global should stop trading with Europe or Latin America should have stopped trading with the genocide apologetic Spain. China and Vietnam should also stop trading with the Japanese
If trading is the same as aiding a genocide, then we can stretch that logic to plenty of other situations as well:
By your logic, we are all aiding genocide same as the USA. We are all as despicable as the kid killers of the entity and their weapons suppliers of USA.
If you can't see the difference between Mexico trading with the US, a directly boarding country where Mexico has few options from a material standpoint, and Vietnam having far more options and not being a bordering country to Isn'treal, then idk what to tell you. That's a bad comparison.
What I'm simply saying is, when there are alternative trading partners and they choose Isn'treal over others, yeah, I'd say that's being ok with genocide. That's them making a conscious decision to say, "we want your goods and are willing to overlook the mountains of dead bodies over there for it." That does in fact mean, at some level, you are being complicit with genocide. Many people here would agree with that. Maybe some of it is a necessary evil and there's simply no alternative to whatever they are trading, maybe some of it isn't, but either way I'd say the fact it happens would disgust most people with ethics and morals.
And realistically, while I fully admit to not being an expert on Isn'treal exports (as I have literally stated I was simply trying to help supply a source for another commenter), I can't imagine there's much they offer that doesn't have alternatives.
I see perfectly clear that this is a good comparison. Maybe, people here in Lemmygrad or the West haven't yet heard what our president Sheinbaum, our economists or the russians/chinese economists have constantly discussed recently but we do have options. Plenty of options... If you want to read more about this, check my mexican gov't recent plan and read about the economists from UNAM -> https://www.gaceta.unam.mx/mexico-debe-diversificar-su-comercio-hacia-america-latina-y-los-brics/
That's the plan with our government which is to diversify our manufacturing industry to the South of Mexico and to sell to Asia as well. If you are not aware about our options from a material standpoint, then I can understand why you will end up concluding that this is a bad comparison. However, I respectfully invite you to inform yourself.
Now, with that out of the way, ask yourself WHY the global south haven't been able to diversify away from colonial entity and the USA? The answer lies on how the parasitic West embeds itself in trade and puts in plenty of mechanisms to avoid decoupling. A simple example is to examine the Free trade agreements that the US currently has and how it punishes non alignment. Also, you need to factor in the pro-western elements that are embedded in our gov't and the private sector(USAID). All of these malicious elements are getting slowly purged and are actively losing power as of recently which allows us breathing room to make urgent changes as diversification.
To practice our ideals and to isolate the West and the entity, countries in the Global South need to build solid alternatives that will not jeopardize their development. Idealism doesn't get us anywhere and material analysis is needed to properly asses these situations.
