I think he means what is also called "word problems". The sort of math problem like "If Susie and Arnold are X miles apart and Susie is traveling towards Arnold at Y miles per hour..."

That makes sense. I was thinking maybe they were pointing out plot holes and inconsistencies in loved stories, but yours is more reasonable.

Everybody hates story problems, ergo Hell’s library consists entirely of books of story problems.
