Google confirms Pixel 8 series has a new main camera sensor, likely Samsung ISOCELL GNV

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have a new main camera sensor, but the company won't say what the exact model is.

Can someone explain why this is such a big deal to people? Everyone on the Pixel subreddit was up in arms about the sensor not being GN2.
But I have no idea why it matters so much, so if someone could explain, that would be great.

Hopefully getting mine on Thursday, can't hardly wait!
- I wasn't going to get one but at&t is taking my 6 pro and giving me an 8 pro. No idea what their scam is with that.
