What Kills Toenail Fungus Instantly?
Nothing.
Most fungi that cause humans problems are like that. They aren't just on the surface, so you can't one hit them.
Now, stuff like topicals do reduce visible signs of most of them, to some degree. But it still takes time to kill it off. Unfortunately, when it's in the nails like that, the degree of change that's visible is negligible at best, and there's no way a topical will kill it all.
Once it's down into the nail, topicals are not very effective, even if used for weeks. If you catch it early enough, maybe. But most people don't because there's not much time in between the beginning and it having dug in beyond where a topical can do much.
Generally, if you want fast clearing, you need an oral antifungal combined with topical. Otherwise, you'll need to work at it for a while, and every day. Light cases, you can maybe kill off in a week or so like that. Deeper ones, it can take months. The real problem is that it will visually improve within a week or so, but come back if you don't continue treatment.
I pulled up the Web md page covering the usual options, and do recommend sticking to their recommendations. Some of the stuff you see online will cause more problems than they fix.
Even on their list, they include stuff that's meh, imo. Yeah, people do use things like baking soda, menthol, and the sunflower oil, but all of those are dubious in terms of actually clearing the invasion, they usually just slow it down, then it comes back full force a week or two later.
My money? If you can't afford a doctor and the prescription oral options, go with one of the otc medications. It isn't that tea tree oil can't work, it definitely does. It's that you can't be certain of the concentration and quality of what you're getting. While the usual medications aren't perfectly uniform, they're still more uniform than herbal and botanical extracts. Also, unlike the plant based stuff, they're less likely to cause skin irritation of their own, which can be a big issue with plant medicines.
Hell, tea tree oil can give burns if too concentrated and left sitting too long. Some people get the most concentrated they can find and just use it straight, thinking it's better. But it isn't. It's just stronger, and that's not the same thing as more effective. Like, damn near anything is dose dependant. Even water, if you take too much, can actually kill you. At least with spme lotrimin, the dosage is controlled enough that it isn't going to cause any troubles that it wouldn't cause at any dose. As in allergies or sensitivity.
