Is Gmail's "Dynamic Email"/Amp4Email like AMP?

I got a "Dynamic Email" today from the Google Store. after some research, I found out that Amp4Email ("Dynamic Email") is made by the same team as AMP. Is it really like AMP, am I sacrificing privacy by using it, and is it another monopoly like AMP was?
