Qualcomm will use both Samsung Foundry and TSMC to fabricate Snapdragon chips
Qualcomm Senior Vice President Alex Katuzian said it is working with both Samsung Foundry and TSMC to get Snapdragon chips fabricated.
Imagine the chaos it would cause if you randomly got a TSMC or Samsung chip with very different performance and thermal profiles.
Hopefully they split it by chip (e.g. TSMC gets the 8 gen 3 and lower tier stuff is on Samsung) and not start making the same chip on different processes. I really don't want another dumb thing to have to worry about when choosing my next phone.
If the Tensor G3 is anything to go by, Samsung's 4nm process seems alright. Probably closer to TSMC's 5nm but alright nonetheless.
I assume this is for all the snapdragon chips they will release this year and not just the 8g3.
