Huawei phones are saying that the Google app is a virus
Huawei phones are currently claiming that the Google app is a virus, sending SMS messages without user knowledge.
Are they wrong?
By the traditional definition they are kind of wrong. I don't agree at all with Googles relentless data harvesting and ads, but the software isn't going to make copies to hide itself on your phone and make it difficult to remove. You would be able to uninstall it like any other app without it leaving anything behind.
So it is more like adware than a virus.
I would technically classify it as “spyware”, but sure.
I mean it's definitely spyware... Not that Huawei has a leg to stand on either lmao

Happened to me too. it suggested to delete the app (there was even a button for it directly) but as expected, nothing happened :(
