We were so close to seeing another gaming handheld ship with Linux out of the box that isn't the Steam Deck, but it seems AYANEO with the AYANEO NEXT LITE weren't convinced enough and so they've changed their minds.

Looks like my steam deck is not getting an upgrade. Oh well.
According to their statement they'll still be offering HoloISO as an option for users. It's possible they were just using it to leverage msft for a cheaper license.
As long as the platform supports SteamOS (or a fork of it), I don't care what it ships with.
I do - because shipping with Windows means that I pay for a Windows license when buying the product.
Yup, it hijacks the price more. Like how computers could be cheaper if they hadn't windows
