From someone who tried making an app that uses NFC, it's all over the place and inconsistent; might be good to have a bit of a reset.
13 0 ReplyPart of project mainline. The point is to separate stuff out and take updating these modules away from the OEM so support for devices can be longer.

Now if they released a new driver update system independent of Google Play, that would be better.

Since a ton of OEMs don't really provide monthly security updates Google breaking it up so it can be updated without updating the system would allow those phones to get important security updates for hardware related to making payments.
