Not everyone agrees. Conservative groups that pushed back against pandemic-era aid programs are now taking aim at guaranteed income too.
Tarren Bragdon, the president and CEO of the Foundation for Government Accountability, a right-leaning think tank, criticized GI projects’ “slow creep,” saying a too-generous welfare state discourages people from working — a concern both parties shared until roughly the last decade. His group, which has sought to curtail access to safety-net programs through tighter employment requirements, has also rolled out messaging to counter GI efforts in some of the cities pursuing them.
Considering conservatives are trying to get a corrupt, insurrectionist, traitorous dictator into the office of the President, I’m of the strictly personal opinion that they shouldn’t be given any voice to “push back” until they learn to unfuck their worldview.

He is not wrong. There are welfare traps for eg here in Finland. But we also have barely any homeless either.
Unfortunately not everyone can be helped, but I will take one ”couch slouch” for one person rescued from a homelessness spiral any day.
Also from my anecdotal observations, there is only a really, really, small amount of people that are ”ideologically unemployed”. Far more people just simply can’t land a job, even if they wanted to work.
