Google Phone starts rolling out ‘Audio Emoji’ and they’re really weird

When your friend says something to you on the phone that is SO FUNNY you pull it away from your ear and tap the crying laughing emoji to let them know that it made you laugh

So it's an emoji-themed soundboard for phone calls. Why would anyone want this?

Sounds cringeworthy, but it might be kinda fun in some contexts to have a soundboard.

"Sorry boss my cheek hit the poop emoji".

Ah, so it's like Discord's sound board feature.

...except that on a Discord call, this type of silliness is expected. If I heard that "Sad Trombone" soundbite on a regular call I'd be stunned

As if emojis aren't bad enough already.

I used this randomly earlier and my friend hated it.

This reminded me of those msn messenger nudges from back in the day.. I'm definitely not the target audience this time around.. 😂
