I've always felt that the black cabs were just full of sour grapes since Uber eats into their profits. Black cabs have always been overpriced.

Black cabs have to be able to take wheelchair passengers though, that's why the cabs are so expensive to buy. I welcome competition as long as it doesn't negatively impact wheelchair users.
