AMD's auto updater does this. But it pops up and closes instantly so I have no idea if it's actually working or just crashing.

I don't sadly, my work software only supports Win/OSX. I recently had a BIOS update failure (thanks ASUS) and had to use a live Linux distro to recover my system data though!

Are you sure you're thinking of herpes or are you maybe thinking of HPV? Iirc most sexually active people have HPV since so many people are asymptomatic (however the vaccine is I think the only vaccine that boasts 100% prevention, I may not be wording that properly though)
