  • In retrospect I should've seen this coming. I mean, it's been at least a couple episodes since someone stole a mobile suit right? Gotta make sure we don't forget this is Gundam.

  • First Thoughts

Machu being in track-and-field explains the athletic prowess that we saw in episode 1.

I love the details that goes into their clothes. It's such a simple thing, but it showed us the characters' personalities.

    More Thoughts

This episode is yet another epic one.

Usually, when someone tries to pilot the Gundam in place of the protagonist, they would fail horribly (e.g. Sai Argyle in Gundam SEED, Miorine Rembran in WfM). GQuuuuuuX subverted this expectation by having Nyaan actually be capable of piloting the Gundam.

I was also not expecting Nyaan to be a Newtype. This makes all 3 of all main characters Newtypes, which should be quite rare, right?

The last surprise for me was Machu's jealousy of Nyaan. I'm looking forward to any drama in next week's episode.

    Complaints

If there's one thing I dislike about GQuuuuuuX so far, it's the lack of good soundtracks. In WfM, the battles felt truly epic because of its soundtracks. GQuuuuuuX is failing the deliver the oomph in the fight scenes without such soundtracks.

I disagree. Personally I thought the WfM soundtrack was often over-the-top in a way that didn't match what was going on. It would pull out dramatic vocals when relatively ordinary things were happening, when imo that should be saved for especially dramatic scenes. To each their own I suppose.
