The tories are pulling the power from GPs to determine whether a mental health patient is "fit for work" and giving it to "special professionals". IE they're outsourcing to a team of people with no medical qualifications with the goal of taking away the money (PIP) these people need to survive.

Just a blatant attack on the social safety net of the UK being made via the most vulnerable people in the country.
- Sunak said Britain was proud to have a strong safety net of welfare payments to those who needed them, but he also said the country had a “sicknote culture” that needed to be tackled. He said “something has gone wrong” since the pandemic to increase the number of economically inactive people who are long-term sick, especially with mental health conditions.
  Some sort of mass disabling event... in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic... hmm...
  "sicknote culture" is also a hell of a phrase, like, can you imagine in the Maldives or some shit:
  "the citizens of our country have for too long had a 'my car is underwater and fucked' culture when trying to get to work. to combat this, we will be sending a man armed at gunpoint to every house that will shoot you if you don't swim to work. I don't care if it's 10 miles, you HAVE to do it"
  guess we gotta expect increasing degrees of austerity as the hosepipe of imperialist profiteering is slowly blocked by anti-imperialist powers, this is truly just the beginning

  It's very infantilising. Like people are unruly schoolkids just trying to skive off. They're trying to play off the fact they know everyone has pulled a sicky here or there, try and get people comparing disability to their own sickies as if they're remotely comparable.
  
  It's a common thread with disability. You're either faking, or weak, or weak and faking. : p
