It's a kind of tendon problem where the finger gets stuck in the bent position and then snaps straight.

Actually yes really. Bring it up with your doctor.
The finger has a tendon that runs the length and is kept close to the bones with bands called pulleys (think like a fishing pole if that is familiar). Your tendon can forms nodes that then do not fit well through the pulley causing either pain or restricted range of motion (or both).
Details may be wrong (not a medical professional, but have had trigger finger)
