Google cuts jobs at Waze as it continues to merge mapping products

The head of Google’s map division said in an email Tuesday that the company is cutting jobs at Waze. Google has been merging Waze with its own mapping products since late last year. The company hopes to “create a more scalable and optimized Waze Ads product,” the email said.
