Earlier this week, we got rumors that AMD is rushing in the Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-core/16-thread "Zen 5" processor with 3D V-cache for a late-October debut. The 9800X3D succeeds the popular 7800X3D, and AMD probably hopes it will have a competitive gaming processor in time for Intel's Core Ultra 2-serie...
Ah, that is a nice upgrade. Having half the chip with less cache was kinda....weird. Really made the single CCD chips (the 6 and 8 core variants) the best option, as one didn't have to think about what cores were fast and which ones weren't.
It was a neat concept having “the best of both worlds” the problem really was just with the scheduler. If Microsoft could fix their scheduler then it would be amazing. But it’s M$ so they won’t.
Also still having two CCDs in general is kind of an issue in windows. I’ll be sticking with the single CCD CPUs for any gaming machines.
