AI expert Gary Marcus thinks OpenAI will be the 'most Orwellian company of all time'

AI expert Gary Marcus says OpenAI may be forced to become a surveillance company to make money.
AI could be leveraged to supercharge surveillance efforts. It's a scenario he calls "Orwellian."
He said the company's employees should voice their concerns.

Ah good, so we are on the Deus Ex timeline, just without Human Revolution.
Morpheus is still a dream, but possibly not for much longer.
I mean it is kind of obvious. AI is already used for filtering large swaths of data. Governments all around the world have shown increased interest in surveilance, from autocracies to democracies. Private companies also want all the data they can.
The question is, can we do anything about it?
This is such a huge yikes, it will take more than employees raising their concerns to stop this. Outer and Inner forces need to be leveraged to stop OpenAI from doing super shady shit. At this point, I feel it's more about harm reduction than stopping harm from happening, as this company is sketchy as fuck. I'm concerned that Sam may have done things we've yet to hear about...
