Also considering I'm trans and there's a literal fascist on the ballot who might enact policies to remove my access to HRT, or potwntially even institutionalize or imprison me and others like me, I am (and already have!) voted against him. Harris isn't perfect, but it's easier to make change under liberal leadership than fascist leadership.
And I'm all for grassroots change. I timed my voting, it was 11 minutes. They don't have to be mutually exclusive, and when it's so easy to do, why not?

Democracy is a process, not the candidate of choice you're given. Even if there's 10 fascist on the ballot, if the election process is not hindered in any way, it is democracy. So yes, democracy is on the ballot. The alternative is dictatorship, monarchy, or autocracy.

It does feel like a sort of good cop bad cop setup in some ways, but we literally have a candidate openly advocating for fascism, concentration camps, and purging the government, this isn’t shouldn’t even be a choice this election and it shouldn’t be as close as it is.

Also a hard pill from the party that hates primaries (and it's not just this cycle or 2020, the DNC blacklists consultants who work with primary candidates the party hasn't ordained the winner for forever). Vote for the anointed one, the candidate (chosen by a legitimate primary election) on the other side is going to destroy democracy, which you can tell we cherish by not even trusting our own registered party members to vote for candidates!
