The suspect nabbed in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is an anti-capitalist Ivy League grad who liked online quotes from “Unabomber’’ Ted Kaczynski —&nb…
This is his Twitter. Fall of Rome, Richard Dawkins New Atheism posting, how TikTok is a secret "CCP" weapon to destroy Western capitalism, oh yeah baby https://xcancel.com/pepmangione?lang=en
Mangione literally means "Glutton" in Italian. And it seems his real name. If I read a book where an assassin called "Glutton" shot a CEO I'd think it was on the nose.
I'm still not even sure I buy the picture being the shooter. Pictures have him in completely different clothes to what the shooter was wearing. Now that they've found him he apparently has literally every piece of evidence with him. Not as sus as Epstein's suicide but its up there
Bro should've trimmed or covered his eyebrows, those things will ID him anywhere. Mask + Sunglasses could've made things much harder on the cops. Maybe also be less expressive when on the job("the job" being any part of travelling to and from the site), the smile he has is popular with the audience but it's ID'd him too.
Mangione had a particularly personal reason to hate the medical community — its treatment of an ailing relative, sources said.
Online obituaries show he lost a grandmother in 2013 and grandfather in 2017.
This is all that matters to keep the dude relateable to anyone and everyone.
Mangione also subscribed to anti-capitalist and climate-change causes, according to law-enforcement sources, citing online activity gleaned by authorities.
Where are his anti-capitalist credentials? I don't see this on the twitter. Seems mostly like work-related posting, most of it being bazinga tech stuff. I'm not going to judge a person in the tech industry posting bazinga tech stuff unless they also profess that techbro shit in a personal setting. Nothing about capitalism or capital on his twitter though?? Not sure where they've got this from.
With that said, I also think that being kinda muddle brained without a coherent ideology makes this a more uniting figure. The left of the working class can see what they want in him and the right of the working class can too.
The important aspect is that both halves of the working class agree that he was right to lash out against the ruling class.
Oh no he's italian! And his last name is basically just "glutton" which is funny, but too obvious.
Wacky anti-establishment Ted Kaczynski
That's certainly one way to refer to him.
Honestly impressive he could condense the unabombers manifesto down to 2.5 pages. Very cool.
“Imagine a society that subjects people to conditions that make them terribly unhappy then gives them the drugs to take away their unhappiness,’’ Kaczynski wrote at one point in a quote liked by Mangione.
“Science fiction It is already happening to some extent in our own society. Instead of removing the conditions that make people depressed modern society gives them antidepressant drugs. In effect antidepressants are a means of modifying an individual’s internal state in such a way as to enable him to tolerate social conditions that he would otherwise find intolerable"
Yeah, I've seen exact same sentiments with lots of upvotes on here. Therapy is, at times, an individual solution to a societal problem. I'm on antidepressants and a large reason is the climate apocalypse, covid and capitalism.
supposedly his youtube account (shares the same username as his twitter and was created in January) posted this video right after news broke he was arrested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdhs9g3Wwg0
