“As of right now the information we’re getting from Altoona is that the gun appears to be a ghost gun that may have been made on a 3-D printer, capable of firing a 9 mm round,” Kenny said.
Officers questioned Mangione, who was acting suspiciously and carrying multiple fraudulent IDs, as well as a U.S. passport, Tisch said. Mangione was carrying a firearm and officers found a suppressor, “both consistent with the weapon used in the murder,” the commissioner said.
Police found a three-page document with writings suggesting that Mangione had “ill will toward corporate America,” Kenny said.
The handwritten document “speaks to both his motivation and mindset,” Tisch said.
It's not even believable at this point. I've seen better plots in dollar store novels.
They are setting up a patsy. They need someone to blame this on, because they are getting completely embarrassed and are of the belief that people will lose faith in the police force if they can't catch a man who murdered someone in the middle of the street. This whole ordeal has gone so far askew from what the "status quo" should have been for a public execution in their eyes, and they just want it to go away. So, they'll find someone they can pin it to, and plant all of the evidence they want on him. Fake IDs, passports, manifestos. This is an average day for the alphabet agencies. What they are too blind to realize is that we've didn't have any faith in them before, and in fact, are starting a new religion around this vigilante as we speak. Wake me up when this goes to court and the defendant is allowed to speak for themselves and shows the cognitive ability of someone who is meticulous enough to procure all of the items needed for this assassination, as well as a well thought out plan and escape route. I'm not going to believe a person with crippling mental health issues and a complete inability to speak full sentences was the man behind all this, but that is who they will show to the cameras.
I'm glad someone else is calling this out. He seemed so thoughtful and methodical previously.
So for the guy to get busted because he eats in a public place, while a huge manhunt is ongoing, and he happens to have on his person: the gun, the fake id previously used, and a manifesto expressing his motive? It's ridiculous! He could have tossed the gun into a body of water anywhere on his route outside NYC and it would never be found. And why reuse the same ID if you had several? Why not burn the associated IDs after they've been compromised?
It doesn't make sense to me. I've seen suggestions that this could have been a state hit, maybe to destabilize the country further? Would our spooks make up a lazy narrative to cover up for their spooks?
3D printed plastic guns have been a thing for many years now. Not every part is 3D printed, they do require you to source some metal parts to make it work. But the majority of a gun can be created in plastic in a printer.
