Totally agree with "Reddit might keep 90% of the users, but Lemmy will gain 10% of the more tech literate" I think the hurdle of getting into lemmy/fediverse is enough to keep a majority of MAGA/Trolls out of here.
If you think there's no MAGA folks that are tech literate, it's been too long since you visited /.

One of the nice things with the whole federation thing is they can have their own instance/sandbox to play in and everyone else doesn't have to play with them unless they want to.
