Free and open source is better, but pay once is still better than subs.
- AlternativeTo is one of favorite websites. You can filter down to open source.

The in-line ads and newsletter signup popup really take the trust in this site down a bit.

This is a pretty cool idea and I appreciate the aggregation, but the site itself works very poorly on mobile. Choosing from the picklist also selects the link behind it.
- I also ended up in a 'signup to our newsletter' form mid scroll which was annoying
